A three month duration training programme on improved handloom weaving under “ IIFCL-NSTFDC Skill Upgradation and Economic Empowerment of Tribal Handloom Women Artisans in the NE states “ project for the state of Arunachal Pradesh has been successfully concluded on 10th July 2015in Diyun, Changlang Dist., Arunachal Pradesh. In this connection a valedictory function of the aforesaid training programme has been organised on 4th August 2015 at, Multipurpose Community Hall, Diyun , Changlang Dist., Arunachal Pradesh. The particular valedictory function was organised under the Chairmanship of Mr. D. Gadi, Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC), Diyun. Smt. Pravawati Deori, Anchal Samity Chairperson, Mr. H.B Chettri, Branch Manager, Arunachal State Cooperative Apex Bank, Mr. P.D Mishra, Extension Officer, Diyun, Mr. Sanjib Sabhapandit, renowned Entrepreneur, Mr. Hemanta Rabha, Sr. Project Officer, IIE and Mr. Tapobrat Bhuyan, Project Coordinator, IIE and all the 25 Numbers of trainees were present in the valedictory function.

While giving welcome address Mr. Hemanta Rabha, Sr. Project Officer, IIE informed that this project is implemented by IIE in all the North - Eastern states covering 200 schedule tribe women artisans (25 from each state). Mr. Rabha also informed that a National Level Exhibition Cum Buyer Seller meet will be organised in Delhi in the month of November, 2015 to give the National and International market exposure to the artisans of NE states. He further mentioned that the trained candidate under this training programme would be extended concessional loan of National Schedule Tribes Finance & Development Corporation (NSTFDC) through its respective State Channelizing Agencies/Regional Rural Banks for setting up of their own Handloom unit.

Mr. D. Gadi, Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC), Diyun in his addressed urged all the trained weavers to take up handloom weaving seriously to earn a decent livelihood. He asked trainees to make diversified products having their own traditional design so that the products get market outside of the state. He also showed his gratitude toIndian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) for initiating such a training programme in Diyun area.

Smt. Pravawati Deori, Anchal Samity Chairperson showed her gratitude to IIE for implementing such a training programme in Diyun Area. She also encouraged trainees to weave those fabrics that have good market demand.

Mr. H.B Chettri, Branch Manager, Arunachal State Cooperative Apex Bank in his speech  emphasised on the various schemes provided by the Apex Bank and how these schemes can be access by the trainees. He also assured to provide necessary assistance to the trainees regarding sanctioning of loan.

In the valedictory function, Steel Frame looms has also been distributed to all the 25 nos. of trainee along with certificates.
