Guwahati, 29th Sep ‘15: MP from Guwahati Lok Sabha constituency, Smti Bijoya Chakravarty and MLA from Sadiya LAC Mr Balin Chetia visited Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, Guwahati on 29th Sept. They visited the Infrastructure of the Institute and Incubation centres of the Institute namely Assamese Jewellery Design Centre and Garments Manufacturing Centre. Currently a few youths from Tinsukia district are undergoing apprenticeship training in the Jewellery incubator. They had interaction with Mr Chetia who promised them help in case they want to set up some venture in Tinsukia. The MP and MLA also interacted with girl trainees from Barpeta district being trained on jewellery making under sponsorship from Govt. of Assam.

Smt Chakravarty mingled with the girl trainees from Arunachal, Mizoram in the Garments Incubator. Smti. Bijoya Chakravarty, MP, appreciated the endeavor made by the IIE in promoting entrepreneurship among the youths. She also appreciated the products made by the participants and emphasised on the future scope of these skilling activities. She looked forward for collaborated programs/projects with IIE under MPLAD.

 MLA Balin Chetia, spoke about the initiative made by IIE which is a good support for the youths for making their life self reliant. He is optimistic that these initiatives taken up by the Institute in the fields of Skill development and Entrepreneurship will surly lead Assam to a better future. To begin with he discussed with IIe regarding setting up of rural Gyms for character and building health in his LAC and setting up of clusters in bamboo based products in Tinsukia district.

 Mr. Manoj K Das, Director, IIE, thanked the Guests for their sparing time to visit IIE. He briefed both the guests on the ongoing and future plans of IIE. Mr. Das also showed keenness to work with the State Government for any development projects in the line of Entrepreneurship and Skill Development
