Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) Guwahati celebrated ‘Hindi Week’ with the ‘Hindi Diwas’, from 14th September. Mr. Manoj K. Das, Director, IIE inaugurated the “Hindi Week” on 14th September, 2015. During the week various competitions like Art, Slogan writing, extempore speech, Quiz etc. were organized among the employees to create an environment of Hindi and to enhance enthusiasm for more official activities in Hindi.

A workshop was also organized on 17th September, 2015 on the subject “The contribution of Hindi cinem in the promotion of National.  Language”. Dr. Achyut Sarma, Associate Professor, Gauhati University was present in the workshop as a ‘Keynote Speaker’. In his speech he elaborated on the impact of the hindi cinema as well as he brought various facets of Hindi cinema. Particularly it has developed in a non-Hindi area. Hero heroines are from mostly non-Hindi areas. The language of Hindi cinema is the common language of all Indians. He touched upon various other interesting aspects and made the commentary lucid and interesting to the packed house.

The closing ceremony of Hindi week was held on 18th September, 2015, on that day the 4th issue of Wall Magazine dedicated to A.P.J Abdul Kalam was also inaugurated by Dr R M Pant, Director of NIRD-PR. Director, IIE mentioned about his memorable meeting with Dr Kalam and remembered how simplistic and humble he was.

In the closing function, Mr. Sheo Sankar Singh, Chairman, Assam Gramin Vikas Bank, Mr. R. M. Pant, Director, NIRD-PR , Mr. S Asthana Director DI-MSME , were the distinguished guests and many other central Govt. dignitaries were present as audience. In the very beginning, Mrs. Binita Das, Hindi Translator, offered a warm welcome the gathering in the closing function. Mr. Manoj K Das, Director IIE, in his inaugural speech highlighted the importance of Rajbhasha in the official level and why it's important. Mr. Singh, Chairman Gramin Vikas Bank, Chief Guest of the function appreciated the Hindi section along with all the officials of IIE for implementing the Official Language in the institute. The winners of the various competitions were awarded by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries on the stage. The main attraction of the evening were  a Ghazal Nite rendered by upcoming Ghazal singer, Dr. Partha Pratim Mohan and a classical dance performed by Pranami Bhagawati, a classical dancer of repute. At the end, the function concluded with Mrs. Das offering the ‘votes of Thanks.
