The North East Adventure Tourism Festival (NEATOFEST), 2018, will be held in the month of September, from the 13th to 16th, at Bogamati, in Baksa district, BTAD,  Assam. The festival is being organized by Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati, with technical support of Assam Mountaineering Association (AMA), in league with various enterprises in the field of adventure tourism, to promote the same in North East India, and generate awareness about it. 

Purpose of NEATOFEST’18

Considering the natural beauty and untapped potential of India’s North Eastern region, to promote tourism, IIE designed a value added aspect to tourism by introducing ‘adventure’ activities. Trainings were designed, and under the aegis of RGNIYD, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, IIE trained around 150 to 200 youths from across North East since 2016. Now, with more than half of the trainees, having started their own enterprises, are all coming together to organise this event of 4 days ,NEATOFEST at Bogamati, Baksa, Assam.

By organising this festival, IIE seeks to motivate, and give the upcoming entrepreneurs of this sector a platform to showcase their expertise and business models, also popularising this sector among the general public as well as the adventure enthusiasts.

With support from, NEC, ATDC, BTC, Incredible India, and the Directorate of Sports & Youth Welfare, Govt. of Assam, IIE is making an attempt to organise this one of a kind festival, which will surely thrill the general public.

NEATOFEST 2018 Destination - Bogamati

Situated at the bank of river Bornodi in Baksa district, BTAD, Assam, Bogamati is nestled near the Indo-Bhutan border. Identified as one of the most promising adventure tourism hub in the present time, with the Bornodi Wildlife Sanctuary encompassing it, Bogamati has lots of scope for adventure sports. Around 90 kms away from Guwahati, it is mere 2 hour’s drive from the city.

The festival will help in establishing Bogamati as a new summer destination and bring about a change in the socio-economic condition of the locality. The unemployed youths of the BTAD area can, also, take this up as a business venture.
